It is easy to clean and dishwasher safe. Food grade silicone is used in the dehydrator sheets to make them safe to use. The non-stick Fruit Dehydrator Trays are 100 % non-stick and can be used for hand washing or dishwasher washing. Dehydrator sheets size is 14*14 in / 35*35 cm, suitable for most fruit dryers, can be cut into other shapes according to different needs. These sheets are great for making fruit leathers, baking goodies, beef jerky, fruit roll ups, and more. They will get back to you within 24 hours if you have any questions.
👤I bought them for the food dehydrator. The mesh sheets were large enough to fit the trays. The sheets are easy to cut with scissors. These work well for dehydrated foods. The food dehydrator is nice and clean. I washed them well and put them in the oven for 30 minutes to make sure they didn't go off-gas. I don't have a problem with chemical smells. They machine wash well and come out clean. Tomatoes have not stained these sheets. We have been using them for baked goods. Pastries and breads do not stick. We don't use them over 350F. No problems telling you about them. Thank you for reading. I hope this will help you make a good purchase.
👤I needed dehydrator sheets that were 15 by 15 inches to line my dehydrator trays. I couldn't find it in that size. I knew this brand would be small. Some of the last ones are only 13 inches. The reasoning behind the 4 star review is frustrating. The quality is great. They are very thin and floppy and won't replace your dehydrator trays. They were easy to wash, just put them in a sink of soapy water and scrub them. I washed and dried them very rough and they held up well. I think they will last for a long time. I used them to make cinnamon apple chips, something that doesn't stick anyways, and they worked great. It was easy to clean when I was done. I will let them soak in some water with baking soda to see if that will help remove the apple smell after washing and drying.
👤These are not even a full 14x14 mat. They are not square and were cut from larger sheets. Some are 13x13.5 and some are 14x14 on one side. If you're buying this as an extra sheet for your dehydrator, please be aware that these are not the same as the silicone mesh sheets you put under your dishes to keep them from slipping.
👤These feel like shelf liners. They seem to serve their purpose. Tomatoes and red peppers turned them red the first time they were used. They were cut very differently. I trimmed them to fit my trays so it didn't matter to me, however if you need the measurements to be exact I wouldn't count on it. Will pay more for thicker trays when they wear out.
👤Does not hold fruit purees.
👤These are great. They are used to line my dehydrator trays. They are easy to clean with soap and water. I cut them down to fit my trays, and it seems as if the air is more evenly distributed as the food is dried. The mats are worth the money. I bought some of them.
👤These work well. I just had to cut them down to fit. They keep my dehydrator clean. They are washed easily by rinsing and draped to dry.
👤It is easy to cut and clean. It's good for peas, cauliflower, and other small things, but I haven't tried herbs yet. I wouldn't try leathers.
Even heat distribution is provided by 1000 Watts of drying power. The temperature can be adjusted to dry different foods at proper temperatures. You can dry large quantities at once with no tray rotation needed, if you purchase additional trays. Converga-Flow drying system pushes heated air up and across each tray, without having to rotation them. There are 8 Fruit Roll-up Sheets, 8 Clean-a-Screens, 1 recipe instruction book, and an original Jerky Spice Pack with Cure included.
👤This is new to dehydrating. Reading reviews and trying to get into this, but not knowing if the kids would even eat it. The Snackmaster seemed to be the best choice. I bought 6 more trays and mesh liners. After doing several batches testing how long it took, how much yield, how many minutes it took the kids to devour the 11 trays of banana chips, one dehydrator was not going to cut it. Within a week, I ordered the Gardenmaster along with 6 more trays and screens. The larger trays make a difference, along with being able to stack 30 trays. Has anyone done that? I use both now. The Gardenmaster is a lot more noisier than the other ones, but with 8 trays it is a lot less drying time. It's loud so you don't want to be on the phone. It's more convenient to load it with no motor to pick it up. Counter space is a little more. The snackmaster is very quiet and takes longer. 600w vs 1000w. The Gardenmaster has just 7 of the trays on it, while the Snackmaster has 11. There is a I wish I'd started with the gardenmaster, I haven't gotten any fruit or jerky yet. I have been using 20 trays for fruits and jerky the past year. No problems, still going strong. There is still no progress on the stockpile. I will order another ten trays for fruits because I don't find the noise an issue. I don't think I'd like jerky with 30 trays. I love the unit. After 3 years, still using. One thing I do with my jerky is that it takes 30 minutes or so for each tray to reach the highest heat at the bottom, so I take the temperature at the top of 10 trays and it was only 140*. The new trays are a bit more concave than the originals, apparently they changed them. The new ones have a ring. The gardenmaster does not fit these trays. New trays need to be heated so that the plastic relaxes and the crowns point up, just like when you open a new dehydrator, we recommend heating the unit for an hour to relax the plastic. The new trays should heat up when Stack 4 is used. This usually fixes the problem. It must not be usual. Nesco lost a customer and I just wanted more useable trays.
👤I was expecting to use it in my kitchen, like I did my old dehydrator. I knew that would never be an option after a second of turning it on. It is so loud! I moved it into my laundry room in the basement, but it still makes noise upstairs. I used the Nesco website to contact their customer service, to find out if the noise is normal. They didn't reply. The noise was 2 stars. The customer service received 2 stars. It gets 1 star for drying well, but it sounds like it's on its last legs. When it dies, I'll update my review.
The ETL listed at 350W of power is perfect for home use. Don't use outdoors. The parts are dishwasher safe. There is a rear mount fan for heat distribution. The electric dehydration machine has a rear-mounted drying fan and air flow circulation technology to promote even drying, there is no need to rotate the shelves as needed by other brands, and the transparent door window makes it easy to monitor the dryer process. Digital temperature and timer. An automatic shut off will be done when the timer shows you when it will be done, and the temperature and timer are adjusted to ensure you have your food done to the perfect temperature and timing. The trays are made of STAINLESS STEEL and include fruit roll ups, mesh trays for smaller food, and fruit leather sheets for roll ups. It is easy to clean the dishwasher safe trays and liners, which can be used to dry beef, vegetables, fruit, bread, and more. If the dehydrators overheated, the safety feature will be activated. It was built with food-grade material.
👤I have had a food dryer for 30 years and it dried vegetables. My family gave me the Magic Mill for my birthday. Since taking it from the box, it has been in almost constant use. After drying meat or sticky fruits, the SS rack pops in the dishwasher. We love dried Fuji apples and make yam slices as dog treats. When the store has limp produce, I have jars of dried veggies for soups. We are able to make our own jerky with clean ingredients. Quality high energy foods are a must for my husband as he does wild land fire fighting in the summer. There are a few more recipe ideas in the owners manual. I plan on taking this tool with me in our RV when we travel for remote jobs, as it is easy to use in an RV. There is a The unit is light enough that an older female can easily move it.
👤The old cheap dehydrator was quieter than the Magic Mill. It is in the kitchen and looks nice. I chose this brand because I am trying to eliminate plastic from my life and this Magic Mill had steel shelves. Magic Mill does not identify the type of plastic used, so the plastic sheet assessors that come with it do not please me. I don't care if you say 'food safe'. I will probably buy some pure silicone trays in the future. The digital feature that allows me to set the tempurature is a welcome improvement over my old one and the fan in the back really creates great air flow. It is easy to wipe down when it is large. If you found this review helpful, please press the button to say thank you.
👤The price was not bad. The product works. The only problem I have is the plastic. The metal trays will fall if not positioned correctly. The sides bow out.
👤I have a nice container garden and this year, I even grew and Harvested Yukon Potatoes. I got 10 pounds of potatoes and I decided to freeze them and then cook them in casseroles for one person. My old dehydrator only does small batches and takes 20 hours to complete. I bought this one on Amazon after doing my research. I finished the potato harvest in 8 hours. It's fabulous! Some of the tomato harvest will be going in tomorrow. My bell peppers are arriving. My Sage is also bursting at the seams. I can't wait to run this baby a lot.
👤I have been using this model at my daughter's home and I now own one. I hope that Magic Mill will design a larger capacity that is all metal, except for the door, when I upgrade. I like that the unit has 9 wire shelves, 2 fruit roll up trays, a mesh tray for items like bananas and strawberries, and a hanger rack for items that should be hung to dry. The shelves are easy to clean with warm water and liquid soap. The control panel is easy to use. The panel is bright red. After washing the shelves and doing a test run to remove any manufacturing odor, we partially filled the unit with the first batches of apples, bananas and pineapples. The fruit was sliced thin, 3 centimeters/less than the thickness of a dime. The option of dehydrating the fruit from soft leathery to crisp is also available. The fruit was delicious. I lightly dusted the apples with cinnamon before dehydrating. After drying, the spice sticks well. I haven't had a dehydrator in a while. I dehydrated many items and the process and seasonings came back. I'm looking forward to using it a lot.
We take the quality of their products seriously. This product is certified to be safe and efficient, so you can be sure that you are getting a high quality appliance. An alternative to commercial products is healthy and delicious. A variety of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and meats are dried in 6 trays. Digital controls allow for easy setting of time and temperature. The transparent window has a clear door that allows you to watch the dehydration progress. The airflow circulation provides thorough, uniform drying without overheating.
👤The Gourmia food dehydrator was the first one that I used and it made it very easy to use. The manual gave instructions on how to dry a large variety of foods. I've used it to make dried apples and bananas. All you have to do is turn the tray on and adjust the time and temperature, and you're good to go. I would recommend this product because it makes it easy to make a snack.
👤I was excited to use this but when I opened the box it said it may cause harm. I would not buy it if this was stated before I did. I would like to know where that chemical is located because the trays are plastic. Will the chemicals be in my food when I use this? I'm thinking about returning this product for something else.
👤It gets hotter to where it is supposed to be within a reasonable amount of time. I use it to make great jerky. Apples and bananas have a great natural flavor without adding anything other than lemon juice. I don't understand the reviews. When you plug it in, it will start and you have to adjust the time and temperature. Don't expect bananas to be dehydrating. The banana chips from the store that are fried in oil and have added sugar are not going to be the dried banana. It does what it is supposed to, comes with a decent little recipe book, and seems to be very durable thus far. It's not as loud as I 888-276-5932 I would like it to have more accessories for doing fruit leathers. I'll probably order some teflon sheets before I try that. It takes up a bit of counter space, but holds a good amount on the 6 racks.
👤I bought this product to dry fruits and vegetables. I haven't had a chance to dry any meat yet, but I have had the chance to dry some fruit. This is a decent dehydrator, however it has a few drawbacks. The cons are 1. The heat distribution leaves something to be desired. I strongly recommend that you use an external thermometer when drying meat to make sure the correct temperature is reached. The back of the unit is where the highest temperatures are. The front of the unit can be cooler than the display. 2. The small openings on the rack are hard to wash. The trays are not dishwasher safe, so you have to do it by hand. This can take a long time. The pros are 1. It is simple to use. Quiet. I can't hear it in the kitchen. 3. There is a large internal space that holds about 3 beets or about 4 mangoes. Even after running for 28 hours straight, the exterior is still cool.
Use fresh, frozen or canned fruit. Six trays give you plenty of room to dry anything from pineapple slices to sticky dates. Also comes with a fruit leather sheet. There is a Foucault statue. Simple, precise, digital controls make it possible for the air to flow through without overheating. The parental door is open. The door is clear so you can see all the sheets. It's fresh and healthy. Store bought junk is not worth the time. You can make a cheaper and more delicious alternative to commercial products. They take the quality of their products seriously. This product is certified to be safe and efficient, so you can be sure that you are getting a high quality appliance.
👤We love mangos and live in South Florida. We planted nine trees 15 years ago and now produce hundreds of mango's. I decided to buy a dehydrator because I couldn't freeze that many. I read reviews and decided to buy the Gourmia. It works well. It has easy to clean trays. The machine is quiet and I just push a button that will run at the perfect temperature for 10 hours. I put the trays in the dishwasher and they are sparkling. You can see the drying process through the sliding door. I plan to try other recipes once the mango season is over because I think this dehydrator is great. The dried mango's have a great texture and flavor. Several pictures were used in the story on my dehydrating mango's that was published in the Coastal Breeze newspaper.
👤There is a permanent spot on the kitchen counter. I don't use it every day, but when it's needed, I love having it right where I can use it immediately. I used it to remove the leaves from the stalks of celery that I'd throw away. I added the dehydrated leaves to my vegetable stock powder blend, which I keep in my herb and spice cabinet. I use it to flavor things such as rice, roasted potatoes, soups, sauces, and so on. It's constantly changing, depending on what I put in it, such as carrot, bell peppers, tomatoes, onions, garlic, and kale. Since we have an old oven that came with the house, I don't like the level of snap to my crackers. Modern ovens have the fan that it doesn't have. The next best thing is this. Transfer the crackers, croutons or chips to the dehydrator to remove any remaining moisture. It was nice and tasty. I haven't used it to proof bread dough yet, but I've heard it's good for that. Mushroom powder tastes great as a finishing touch to the sauce. I've made my own garlic and onion powders. It stinks up the house, but it's worth it. I dehydrated tots to make them stable for breakfast. Mixed vegetables are great to have on hand. You don't have to worry about freezer burn. I like dehydrated corn. I don't see why I have to vacuum clean the bottom out from time to time because food dust gets in between the crevices. It is not in the ideal range to do jerky. I would really like it to be.
👤When my boyfriend bought me a dehydrator, I had no idea how to use it. I underestimated the amount of snacks and flavors that could be found there. This thing goes beyond the world of food. You can make fruit leather, make different spices and sugars, and much more. Think about chemistry. The dehydrator has a timer which makes it very practical. It was easy to use. Love it. Buying dehydrator sheets is a good idea. They fit easily into the trays and make for less mess. It can be loud when the timer is up, but you won't know it's running. You can leave the dehydrator running while you're out and it will do the work while you're not around. You will not be disappointed.
One fine-mesh sheet for drying small food like herbs and one solid sheet for making fruit rolls are included. When the timer is done, it will automatically shut off, because the temperature and timer are set to the exact temperature and timing. There are spatulas and roller spatulas included in the STAINLESS STEEL TRAYS. The fruit leather sheet can be used for the fruit roll ups and the trays can be used for regular food. The Magic Mill dehydration machine can do a lot in a single batches. All trays and liners are dishwasher safe, and the housing makes it easy to clean. If the dehydrators overheated, the safety feature will be activated. It was built with food-grade material.
👤I bought this product on March 1st. I was using it for a while. The front cover started to crack in the first week after 3-4 days a week. I tried to call customer support, but couldn't. I was looking for a replacement cover. I tried to call the manufacture, but they didn't help me. The machine does a good job of dehydrating food, but the cover is falling apart and I can't replace it without replacing the entire appliance.
👤I have to write a negative review. This is the worst dehydrator on the planet. You can't change your temp settings. If you bought a dehydrator because you want to eat raw, there are only 3 preset temp settings you can choose from, none of which is the ideal temp to dehydrate for raw food. The timer only works for 30 minutes and it can only run for 20 hours at a time, so it's not really helpful. It's great if you're into food poisoning but for myself, I try to avoid things that could cause me to go to the hospital. I would like to give this zero stars.
👤This is a high end product with a low price. The temperature range is perfect. The racks are easy to clean. Every time my dog hears it, she gets excited. She likes dehydrated sweet potatoes, bananas, apples, and green beans. The product is easy to use on the kitchen counter. The glass and steel door looks very nice. I researched products from low cost to high cost and found this one. Save yourself some time and trust me on this one.
👤The unit has the wire trays I wanted, but without plastic. Prepare by soaking wire trays in hot soapy water for 15 minutes and rinsing them with hot water. The dryer's interior was sponged with warm water. At the maximum temperature, it should be run for 1hr. There was no smell of plastic during the run. The unit was used in a single run to dehydrate 8.0 lbs of soupy meat in order to make just under 4 lbs of soupy jerky. The total drying surface area is about 6.5 square feet. 1.33 lbs of rolled soupy meat is 888-282-0465 The meat can be positioned close to the edge of the tray, but not close to the walls or tray runners, as each tray was slid into the drying unit. I set up the dehydrator in my basement shop in order to avoid annoying family members that don't like the smell of drying soupy. I am very satisfied with my shop and the smell is great once the dryer is turned off. The Magic Mill Pro dehydrator has nice wire trays.
👤I was really excited to get this dehydrator, but it's sitting on my kitchen counter and I'm not really excited. I was going to dehydrate produce and semi-liquids. The unit is not suited for either. I was willing to purchase more trays. It has been almost impossible. We paid extra to get the unit with shelves that were made of steel. There is a design flaw. Although the shelves are made of steel, they do not allow large items to be dehydrated without being in direct contact with plastic, and the square holes in the trays are large and smaller items would fall through as they shrink in the dehydrating process. The plastic mesh sheets you could use for smaller items are not the best way to choose a dehydrator. Why didn't they make the mesh small enough to dehydrate food? There is a design flaw. The shelves do not have enough edge to keep round items from rolling off. If you put the plastic mesh over the shelf, it will be even more true. I was willing to buy more fruit roll up trays, but they are almost impossible to buy. Poor customer service. It is difficult to get in touch with the seller or manufacturer to purchase additional trays. I've tried by email and phone but haven't been able to reach a person. Each time I selected "sales", the phone system hung up on me. If it was after hours in their time zone, the least they could have done was to allow me to leave a message. If it is difficult to buy something, how much harder will it be if a repair is needed? I'm going to return it because I didn't like it as much as I wanted. If the holes are too big and the plastic is needed, what is the point of having a shelf made of steel? If you can't get the seller or manufacturer to sell the trays, what is the point of buying them? If you only want to dry meat or produce, this might be a good dehydrator. If you were expecting to be able to use the shelves for smaller items, this is probably not the dehydrator for you. Good luck trying to buy more trays from the seller or manufacturer.
The airflow circulation provides thorough, uniform drying without overheating. The automatic fan is rear-mounted. The fan is inside the dehydrationator. Warm Air with 600W of heating power will make sure your food product is safe. There are six sad tapestries. The room for six trays is 13” X 12” and gives you room to keep your favorite foods and treats. You can remove more than one tray at a time to make room. All parts of the STAINLESS STEEL BODY and TRAYS are safe to use and free of harmful toxins. The temperature range of the digital temperature and timer is 95 to 167oF. It is easy to clean. The units are dishwasher safe and easy to clean, and the trays are made of steel.
👤A great dehydrator. The extra money is worth it. The dehydrator died at 362 days old, so I changed my review to one star. It was connected to a surge protector and not interfered with the fan. It died. The sellar didn't reply to my emails. It died August 9th and was not shipped until August 12th. I need the dehydrator the most this time of year because I am harvesting a lot of peppers and herbs. The warranty was honored by the manufacturer. The seller is silent.
👤I spent 3 hours researching and finding the perfect dehydrator. Ivation, large capacity, easy to program, simple to clean, well made and very durable. The attention of jerky lovers. It is beyond safe when dehydrating meats and 10 racks will dry a lot of jerky because of the high temperature. You decide where the temp/time is set. There is a tray on the bottom. I can dry a lot of food items with this unit. I used cheap sheets of silicone to cover the rack and pour fruit purees to make fruit leather. The unit is sturdy and large. The glass window gives me a peek inside. It's perfect for someone who really uses a dehydrator. This is a workhorse. It was very easy to clean. If you don't want a small low power plastic unit, I highly recommend this, I have used it a lot. The machine has 1000w. Ivation is the dream machine, so stop fretting over which unit to buy. There is no reason to get a recipe book as recipes are all over the internet. You tube is amazing.
👤Don't buy this junk! I have lost $50 worth of food. It was used for drying my favorite fruits, but it got broken and no more running motor for dehydration process! My wooden floor was ruined with stains and fruit inside. It was too late for me to discover this after a few hours. I tried to go through the return process, but it was no longer eligible. It has been used to dry my own fruits. I have used it once before and it has been about a month or so since. The return was closed. I threatened to leave Amazon if they didn't give me a credit after I contacted them. My God! I had to go to the bathroom. Don't buy this period! I am very upset. I ordered another one that had a fan on the back. We will see what happens now that it is coming. If Amazon cares about their customers, they shouldn't carry this junk.
👤This is the dehydrator for making jerky. This seems to be well built and easy to use. I put 8 lbs of venison jerky in it to try it and only filled 9 of the 10 trays. 10 pounds could be close to the limit. I put a temp probe in the center to make sure the unit won't display internal temp. After 3.5 hours my dehydrator was up to 160 and I was almost done with it. If you're trying to find a dehydrator, get this one. The magic mill, cosori, chefwave, and Samson all seem to be the same unit.
You can find more about the COSORI dehydrator and accessories by searching for C 165-2MS, CO 165-FD, CP 257-FD, C 165-2FR, or C267-2MS. A multi-tiered countertop electric food dehydrator that can preserve a variety of food is finally here. It makes food with very little preparation. The new NutriChef food preserver is designed to prevent food from going to waste. There are 10-TIERED DRYER TRAYS. 10 food grade trays or dryer rack are included. It can be used to dry food without the use of a dehydrator. The trays are easy to clean. Also includes fruit roll sheet. Food preservation can be done with electronic probe and temperature control. The famous beef jerky is made fromhydrates and preserves. Dehydrating fruits/vegetables makes potato/kale chips. Touch-control display. There is a touch control display, auto shut-off, memory function, and switch door. The built-in motor and internal fan are designed to prevent the appliance from overheating. High heat circulation. The hot air circulation dries food. The food shrinks but still has vitamins and minerals. Scientifically tested to increase shelf life.
👤I decided to order the same thing because it was easy after 7 years of Excalibur. It was damaged when it arrived. I could see how cheap the plastic was. I didn't want a dehydrator that had plastic shelves. I read many reviews. I can still dry a lot even though this is a bit smaller than my previous dehydrator. I did my first batches of apple rings and they were very efficient and juicy. It has a regular style door, which is different from the one you just kind of hang on to. I hope this lasts because I really like it. The handles on the side make it easy to carry.
👤Dehydrating with this machine is very easy. Consistent performance. We've been using this for a while. There were no complaints. I was able to schedule food rotation cycles once I got the hang of it. It's running 24 hours a day unless I've forgotten to purchase frozen veggies, take time to process fresh fruits, or cook meat with the fat extract and stored. The temperature range is accurate. It runs quiet as well. It has a 24 hour timer, but if you're busy or in doubt, add more time. Don't let dried food sit in stagnant air. We'll buy another one and then more as we can fit them. Don't bother with the 5 shelf get the 10 because you can use the volume or alternative spacing when you need it. You will wish you started years ago if you know how easy it is to create food security. Even if others don't acknowledge the state of things, take responsibility of your future. Investing in the future is a labor of love. Independence and choice are dependent on food sovereignty.
👤Absolutely love it! The beef bulgogi jerky was my first experience with the nutrichef and it turned out great! It's easy to clean and it fits a lot of food in my kitchen. The recipe book is an added bonus and it turns off automatically when the timer is up. This is a good dehydrator.
👤There was a small dent on the top side corner. There was no damage to the package that would have caused a problem during transit. I am assuming the dehydrator was damaged in the manufacturing process and shipped with it. I have yet to try it out. It affects the appearance of an expensive appliance in the kitchen. Disappointed.
👤I have been using it a lot. I have made a lot of jerky. This thing can handle a lot of product at once and does a great job. The shelf is the only thing I would try to improve. There is a rack supports. It sometimes tips to the next shelf, but not a big deal. It's just annoying.
👤It fits perfectly in my kitchen. Quiet during operation. When I tested it, it reached 170 degrees in about 5 minutes. I don't have to wash them because it has a dishwasher safe wire rack. Controls are easy to use. The interface is very intuitive and you are ready to go. I'll be making my first batches of turkey jerky and will update this review with any new information.
It is easy to clean food from the dehydrator's base with a damp cloth or a brush. The fruit roll sheet should be placed on the bottom tray to prevent liquid from dripping on the base. 👤I bought this for the reviews. I have been using it for a long time. The guide in the instructions does not produce dehydrated food, even though each food will vary with time and temp. I have fresh basil. It suggests that herbs should be in 100-115 degrees for 3-6 hours. I did that twice. I put it in for 10 more hours, and it was all at 115 degrees. The basil is still damp and not near storage. I've had the same experience making diced hot pepper. Very disappointing.
👤The food dehydrator is very nice. I've had it for a month and have only used it for fruit. I've eaten apples, bananas and blueberries. It has an insert mat for smaller fruits and nuts so they don't fall through. I sprayed it on the second use because most of the fruit stuck to the trays on the first try. Excellent item.
👤The dehydrator is amazing. Being light makes it easy to move. The beef was done in 4 hours. Also dried fruit. It turns off when done. I don't have time to check it because I'm chasing kids. The door should be closed all the way. It catches on the side. You can see the window clear. You don't have to open like the round ones.
👤A dehydrator sounded like a good idea as I decided to start making my own jerky. This one is cheap and has a lot of settings. It's great to have a digital timer and temperature setting. You set it and forget it. I have to leave the jerky in a little bit longer than it should because the door seems cheap and causes some heat loss. The tray design works out well since it has a drip tray at the bottom. Everything is plastic, so you just wipe it down and you're good to go!
👤The product needs to be at least 160 degrees in order to make it safe. I don't feel like this machine should be sold with the intention of making a safe product, the machine has an instruction book that states that the product should be heated up to 160 and pork 165. I wasted a lot of meat and marination and only found out that the machine heated up to 158 when I read the manual, but I didn't know that. I thought I was not using the buttons correctly. I had to prepare it differently after reading that. What a waste of time. It's too much work to make the meat Safe first in order to make the jerky for this amount of money, so you should be able to just make it in it. I am returning the machine and buying one that is a little bit more expensive and will heat up to 172.
👤Do it if you are wondering if you should spend the extra dollars for this model. The time of your drying cycle is dependent on the timer. The unit dried fruit twice as fast as an older model I used. I processed 3 gallons of cherries. I spray the trays with non-stick cooking spray before I lay the fruit down in the freezer. The fruit has a more flexible texture, which helps in cleaning up.
If you receive broken trays, please contact them for support. They offer free replacement service, so you don't have to worry about making your own food or snacking. You can see the drying process with a large viewing window. The ETL listed at 350W of power is perfect for home use. Don't use outdoors. The parts are dishwasher safe.
👤The item had a cancer warning on it. I would not recommend this item. The product isn't mentioned in the details.
👤The thing works but not well. I lent my large food dehydrator to my mother last growing season and decided to purchase a small one for a few fruits and herbs until I can get my larger one back. I have experience with other food dehydrators. I know that it wouldn't be. It was nice as the other dehydrator, but I thought it would get the job done. It takes much longer than stated in the pamphlet, and it does in fact dehydrate food. There is no way to know which temp the machine is currently heated to, and the light that comes on when you turn it on is a bit misleading. You have to make sure that the tiers are seated correctly. I'm not very happy with how long it takes to dehydrate, so I may end up returning it, but I'm going to give it a bit more time. The herbs took about 12. Apple slices took about 24 hours to dry. They should take about 12.
👤I would caution people to wash it thoroughly before using it because it will run out. I put some apples in after a quick wipe down and got a strange smell in the first few hours. In nature, it seems oily. Will try another load and update the review later. The smell is still present and penetrating the food. My rating was lowered to one star. Run away from that one!
👤When I bought it, I was a little nervous. There were a few good reviews and a few bad ones. So. I was confused but my sister has one and it works well. I decided to buy it. I am very happy that I did. It's easy to use and control the temperature. There are people who did a review on how to use it, so you can check it out for more tips. I used it three times in the last three weeks and it worked. I don't know why people have bad reviews, but this machine is perfect. It is perfect for hydrating carrot and white radish in Vietnam.
👤I like eating dehydrated snacks, but they are too expensive. I decided to make my own. The dehydrator is nice. You can control how long the temperature is for your snack or ingredient with 3 temperature grade reads. I check on my food when it's getting dehydrated. I don't want a snap in my food. I am very happy with my results.
👤This is the best dehydrator I have ever owned. I like giving food gifts. dehydrated fruit baskets are expensive. The cost of a gift basket is the same as the cost of a dehydrator. The dehydrators had 4.5 stars. I picked this one because it was on sale. I am very happy with my choice. We have a lot of fruits and vegetables. I put them in gift baskets for my husband's staff. I made a bag of gorp for the trip. We love lemons. I would imagine some adult drinks as well, since they are great to put in hot or cold tea. The apples tasted great. I have no room in my small kitchen. I will find the room.

👤I bought this dehydrator because I thought it would be an upgrade from the plastic one I was using before. When trying to use the fan, it would shut off intermittently. The fan stopped working after a few months and now the dehydrator is useless. The manufacturer was directed to me because the Amazon warranty had expired. The new dehydrator is working great.
👤This machine is perfect for me. I read a lot about dehydrators before buying and I'm very happy with the one I bought. It is lightweight and has a timer. It has a clear door so you can see what's going on. The six shelves are large enough for 3 and 1/2 to 4 lbs of meat. It has all the features I wanted, and it has temperature and time controls. I'm very happy with this product. I didn't buy Excalibur because of the noise I read in reviews. This one is so quiet you don't hear it often. It cleans up and doesn't give off strong smells after cleaning. I would recommend this machine to anyone that is looking for a reliable dehydrator.
👤I settled on this one because I looked up and down for the right dehydrator. The looks and ease of use make me happy. It's easy to use, set the temp, and forget about it until it's done. I have made a lot of jerky, both using hamburger and meat, along with banana and apple chips, and they go fast. I put tinfoil on the bottom to catch drips. Saving money on jerky is better than buying it in a store. Don't be disappointed if you get it.
👤I only use my dehydrator to dehydrate my favorite snack, dried strawberries. An older plastic round dehydrator was replaced by this. The new Cosori took less than 3 hours to dry my berries. I like the fact that it is not plastic. I took a class on dehydration. The instructor said that square machines were better to use. It was good to get rid of plastic. The Cosori was selected based on other comments in the reviews of other dehydrators on the market. Some reviewers state that this machine gives out after a few rounds of dehydrating. My old plastic machine was used for many years, so I'm pretty sure this machine will be used for many years as well. The metal trays will not break apart.
👤If you are looking for a machine that is very quiet, then this is the one for you. It is easy to setup and use. It was well packaged. There was no damage. To start... If you want to see it all, you can open the door at any time and see it from the glass door. The temperature and the remaining time are shown on the timer. Nice feature. It looks like a mini oven and is not big and bulky, but I thought it would be stuffed in a closet and not allowed to sit out. It was sleek. Amazingly, has a lot of items. It's a nice addition to use. The cookbook came with it. Very detailed. A section to let you know how long to wait for the drying process to start. A quality product. Don't hesitate to buy. I sent the husband to the store because I didn't want to start dehydrating. I would suggest to buy more liners for smaller items or use the cut to size method. Quality product, fast shipping, easy to use, large capacity, QUIET, nice sleek design, and free items, why wouldn't you keep looking?
