👤I chose this product over the other ones because it says Made in USA. That is a complete lie. If you flip the lid over, it says Made in China.

👤I used it to make dog treats out of chicken feet, turkey necks, chicken hearts and gizzards. I put it at 160F and it was ready to feed the dogs. It is cheaper to make homemade treats than it is to buy them.

👤I got a dehydrator in June. I called the company when I started to dry my herbs. I asked for help because my herbs were taking so long to dry. I didn't get much satisfaction but I thought the basil took more time. I was working on basil and herbs. It took at least 36 hours. I was harvesting parsley. I want to dehydrate it. It took 24 hours to dry. This product was very disappointing. I wouldn't recommend it. I would return it. I didn't start dehydrating until August. Don't buy this product.

👤We used it a few times to make backpacking food, and kept it there until November. We tried to make some jerky, but it was too hot. We had the same model and it lasted a long time. Maybe the manufacturing quality has gone down.

👤I did a lot of research before buying these. When you have over 3000 reviews and you are still at 4 1/2 stars, you can't deny this. It was the best jerky I have ever had. They are free with the spices we used. There was soy sauce and red wine vinaigrette added. It's better than any store bought product. I panicked because I didn't have a timer. We have cell phones with us. We are doing fruit now. I don't want to wait for it to be done. The smells fill the whole house. Don't look anywhere else. This is the best!

👤I like my dehydrator. It was one of the best purchases I've ever made. The price is great for what you are getting and I have had a great result with mine. I make my own food for backpacking and camping trips and it has made the cost of food go down because I don't buy freeze dried food. I don't mind the extra crunch in my food because this is so much cheaper and it's not a freeze dry, but it's still a good option. I use it to dehydrate fruits and vegetables when they are about to go bad. The little thing has so much use. I searched for dehydrators on the market and found many, but I think this is the best for the price. It sounds like a fan when it's on. It's safe to leave running overnight, it doesn't use much electricity, and it has 5 trays to dehydrating at once. Don't put onions and pineapple in there, you will end up with pineapple that has an onion taste to it. It comes with a handy booklet and packets of seasoning for dehydrating meat, and it comes with different tray inserts so you can dehydrate different shaped things. I've gotten a lot of use out of this investment. It's good for people who are looking to save money when packing for trips and camping. It's good for people who want to have dehydrated food for themselves or their kids but don't want to spend a lot of money on dehydrated snacks. It does take a little more prep time than buying food in a store but it's worth it. You know what you're putting into your body.

Brand: Nesco

👤I bought the Nesco Square Tray Dehydrator to make sweet potato treats for our dogs without having to pay the vet a fee. I would save about $500 per year making my own if I had the cost of the dehydrator along with buying sweet potatoes at 66-99 cents per pound. The Nesco Square Dehydrator was rated highly by reviewers, had 700 watt of power, generated internal temperatures from 95- 155 degrees, and was 888-282-0465. I bought four more trays after using the four provided, because my initial few attempts produced great results. The time it took to get all of the treats uniformly dried was lengthened by the addition of four trays. My choice was to spend three times as much to try an Excalibur Dehydrator or to buy another Nesco unit with 1,000 watt of power for $102.00. I went for the Nesco Gardenmaster since I would have 1,000 watt of power in the new unit and it was 1/3 the price of the Excalibur. The unit was rated for up to 20 trays and had internal temperatures of 90 to 160 degrees. I decided to simply add two trays to my purchase and compare the results of the two units as far as dehydrating time and output were concerned. I cut up 22 pounds of sweet potatoes and put them on six trays in each of the two dehydrators and then went to bed. I was expecting the 1,000 watt Gardenmaster to have finished its task earlier than the 700 watt Square Dehydrator. It didn't. The sweet potatoes were not finished to the desired crispiness. I checked the results again after adding another three hours. There is still no difference. I put the top and bottom trays on the same machine and added three hours. The treats were done in both machines after eighteen hours. The shape of the machines, the amount of wattage put out by each, the efficiency of the air flow in the square unit, the thickness of the walls of the trays, and so on are some of the things that could cause this result. I'm still satisfied with each of the Nesco units, but I was expecting a better result from the unit with higher power and it cost $30 more. I think I will only use four trays in the dehydrator. It's a pipe dream to think that each unit will handle 20 trays of sweet potatoes in three days.

👤I have been running this for as many as 25 days straight during mushroom season. We have dehydrated over 250 pounds of wild mushrooms and they can be dried in as little as 12 hours at 95 degrees. When it's humid, I run at 115 for 12 hours and drop to 95 for 12 hours, and have yet to have a batches ready when the next load has to go on. After 12 hours, I take the bottom four and put them on top of the top four. To see how it works with 12 more trays are ordered. It works well for jerky as well. Highly recommended!

👤It's like making a slower, less exciting episode of "Will It Blend?" if you own this dehydrator. You will wonder if you can dehydrate this produce. The answer is yes. The answer is always yes. If you buy this because you want to decrease the amount of produce in your kitchen by dehydrating your garden harvest, you will soon find yourself at the store buying more things to dehydrate. I dehydrated from my garden, which included chili peppers, tomatoes, herbs, squash, and beans. I bought apples, sweet potatoes, and eggplant to slice and dehydrate. There are some tips. A slicer may be beneficial. Only a few pieces are needed to test your slicing thickness. The dehydrating process essentially destroyed the zucchini I sliced. I was rewarded with beautiful zucchini chips after trying a thicker slice. 2. It's recommended to dehydrate herbs and veggies on a lower temp. Lower temperatures mean brighter colors. A photo of chili pepper flakes was included. The brighter red ones on the left were dehydrated at 95 deg F, while the darker ones on the right were dehydrated at 135 deg F. It takes a long time to dry things at lower temperatures. One way to get around this is to lower the temp for a few hours. 3. Things should be kept out of the way. Airflow is important. The trays have a gap in the center that lines up with the fan, but leaving it does help speed up the drying process. 4. After they are dry, remove the leaves from the large stems of herbs. It is much easier to remove the leaves from the stem, put them on the trays, and move them to a container one by one, than it is to run your finger down the stem and push the leaves off.

👤Only had it for a day. It seems like a decent product. I agree with one reviewer who said it needs two things, both of which seem very basic. There is no way to turn it on or off. You have to pull the plug. I didn't think a product wouldn't have a switch. This one seems to me to be an oversight because every decent electrical product in my house has a switch. It's possible to turn off your hair dryer or blender. A timer would be helpful. If some people go to bed and then to work, then they will have to eat for a long time. Most users would be happy to pay $2 for both of these drawbacks.

👤This is a great way to have healthy snacks on our outdoor adventures because we eat the Paleo diet and are big outdoors enthusiasts. We have used it a lot since we bought it. We have dehydrated a lot of food since buying it. We loved it! Every time we go on a hike, camping, or backpacking trip, we bring dried apples, bananas, peaches, and beef jerky. We are going to buy more trays in order to dry more at a time since it comes with five trays. The top tray dries a little quicker than expected so sometimes we have to change the trays. The jerky we made with it was a hit. The packets that come with it are really good and we've shared them with friends and family who always ask for more. The buy was definitely worth it.

There is a recipe instruction book and a sample to start. There is Certified Frustration-Free Packaging on the ship.

Brand: Nesco

👤The machine does great despite not coming with all the bells and whistles of the expensive machines. I ordered two more trays to work with. A lot of food. It has some noise, like a hairdryer on low. It gets warm in the room it is in because it is set to 160. I use mine in the laundry room. I could use the porch as well. The fan works well and it has dehydrated my items evenly and quickly, all six trays without having to move them. The beef jerky flavor is great. Neither of us have teeth anymore so we used hamburger for a softer jerky. We thought our beef jerky eating days were over when we were married for 42 years. A good time table is to check on the progress every 2 hours, you can check for 4 hours. It would be convenient if this was a more expensive model with a timer. It's no problem to give it a peek at the price and performance. I thought it would be hard to clean. That was no problem at all, and only took a few steps with a wet rag. I tried oranges and blueberries. I didn't have any orange slices left when I got the beef jerky, because the orange slices didn't survive my checking on them. They said it was delicious and dehydrated. The gobstoppers were the blueberries that were in too long. They had a lot of taste but were too hard for people without teeth. This is a great machine for dehydrating. It is very quick. Don't taste oranges too much before the rest of the items are ready.

👤The product is amazing. I made dehydrated beef strips that looked a little too dry, but I don't think it was an era. I made beef jerky and it was wonderful. It does what it's supposed to do and the temperature is great.

👤I decided to get this one even though I'd read some bad reviews here. I've been waiting for almost three years to write this review because I wanted to make sure it was sturdy and reliable. After using it religiously for three years, it does the trick. My family and I have six dogs, and I make chicken jerky treats for them. They are easy to make and the dogs love them. I saved a lot of money making chicken jerky with this dehydrator. I could go on a cruise. Bon voyage!

👤Loud. It's great for the money and the size. My first batches of jerky turned out great in less time than I anticipated. It's so loud. A blow dryer is not as loud as a vacuum cleaner. Unless you have aventilated room to put it in, beware. It gets very hot to the touch. If you have a room to put it in or will be away while it's working, I would recommend buying it. I might not be comfortable leaving the house if I knew it was going to get very hot.

Brand: Ivation

👤A great dehydrator. The extra money is worth it. The dehydrator died at 362 days old, so I changed my review to one star. It was connected to a surge protector and not interfered with the fan. It died. The sellar didn't reply to my emails. It died August 9th and was not shipped until August 12th. I need the dehydrator the most this time of year because I am harvesting a lot of peppers and herbs. The warranty was honored by the manufacturer. The seller is silent.

👤I spent 3 hours researching and finding the perfect dehydrator. Ivation, large capacity, easy to program, simple to clean, well made and very durable. The attention of jerky lovers. It is beyond safe when dehydrating meats and 10 racks will dry a lot of jerky because of the high temperature. You decide where the temp/time is set. There is a tray on the bottom. I can dry a lot of food items with this unit. I used cheap sheets of silicone to cover the rack and pour fruit purees to make fruit leather. The unit is sturdy and large. The glass window gives me a peek inside. It's perfect for someone who really uses a dehydrator. This is a workhorse. It was very easy to clean. If you don't want a small low power plastic unit, I highly recommend this, I have used it a lot. The machine has 1000w. Ivation is the dream machine, so stop fretting over which unit to buy. There is no reason to get a recipe book as recipes are all over the internet. You tube is amazing.

👤Don't buy this junk! I have lost $50 worth of food. It was used for drying my favorite fruits, but it got broken and no more running motor for dehydration process! My wooden floor was ruined with stains and fruit inside. It was too late for me to discover this after a few hours. I tried to go through the return process, but it was no longer eligible. It has been used to dry my own fruits. I have used it once before and it has been about a month or so since. The return was closed. I threatened to leave Amazon if they didn't give me a credit after I contacted them. My God! I had to go to the bathroom. Don't buy this period! I am very upset. I ordered another one that had a fan on the back. We will see what happens now that it is coming. If Amazon cares about their customers, they shouldn't carry this junk.

👤This is the dehydrator for making jerky. This seems to be well built and easy to use. I put 8 lbs of venison jerky in it to try it and only filled 9 of the 10 trays. 10 pounds could be close to the limit. I put a temp probe in the center to make sure the unit won't display internal temp. After 3.5 hours my dehydrator was up to 160 and I was almost done with it. If you're trying to find a dehydrator, get this one. The magic mill, cosori, chefwave, and Samson all seem to be the same unit.

6. NESCO FD 60 Snackmaster Express Dehydrator

NESCO FD 60 Snackmaster Express Dehydrator

The manufacturer has a 5 year warranty. A food dehydrator that dries in hours instead of days and has a vita-save exterior helps block harmful light which destroys the nutrition of food being dehydrated. You can dry large quantities at once with no tray rotation needed, if you buy additional trays. Made in the USA is made in global and domestic components. There is a fruit roll sheet and two original-flavor jerky cure packets.

👤For the last 4 years, I have beenhydrating a lot of fruit. I keep detailed notes about each of the dehydrators. When I bought the dehydrators on Amazon, I thought I might help someone out, because I got so much good information. I remember buying one of the dehydrators since I needed two more. I've learned a lot through experience. The best dehydrator of the 4 is the Nsco FD-60. It dries quicker than my second best, the Nesco FD-75PR. One of the most confusing things when trying to decide which to buy is the name of each. They overlap from one model to another, so my advice is to go by model numbers. The handle on the top lid doesn't flip out like it does on the FD-75PR, which makes picking up the lid a bit difficult. The FD-60 has a well designed inverted handle that makes it easy to lift the lid, whereas you have to balance the lid a bit. I do a lot of lifting, putting the lid down on the counter, and checking, so this is an important feature. The lid is easier to handle than the FD-60, and I like them both very much. The fruit doesn't dry out any more than the other one even though one dries faster. If the temp is set right, both work well drying out fruit. They suggest 135 degrees for fruit, but I go a tad hotter. I watch the fruit at 140 degrees to make sure it doesn't dry out. One thing to add is the slower FD-75PR. When I needed to arrange the drying time, I chose this one over the FD-60, so I wouldn't have to go to sleep when the fruit needed tending to. It takes at least 8 hours to dry fruit, so timing is important, so this slower one is actually better, so I don't have to get up at 5 am or midnight. It usually takes me between 8 and 11 hours to complete all the fruit on my faster dehydrator. I use up to 8 trays, but I don't like to go over 7. I've dried as many as 9 in one dehydrator, but it wasn't optimal. Too much checking and rechecking was required. The dehydrators' sweet spots are found in 7 trays total. I only dry fruit and have never gone over 140 degrees. They don't have to use dried-on sticky fruit juice and goo to clean up. I only use my dehydrators about a month a year, but they get use in that month, which is about 4 weeks, and I only get a break when I'm washing and reloading the trays. I have four dehydrators that all make the same amount of noise, so noise level wouldn't be a factor if I chose between them. I don't recommend heat-from-the- bottom types of dehydrators. I use an empty tray on the bottom because the tray has warped when too close to the heat source. The edges of the fruit can fry if they're not dry, so they leave the inner part of the fruit wet. A lot of high-maintenance work is needed to have the fruit done properly. The heat source on the bottom of the dehydrator might be better. The ones I have are older and not as high end, so that could be a problem. It makes sense that the heat source from the bottom may make things too hot on the bottom and not hot enough on top. I know that heat rises, but for some reason, it's too hot on the bottom and not hot enough on top, so I'm constantly shifting trays from one level to another to accommodate these heat-from-the- bottom dehydrators. If I could only buy one, I would buy the FD-60 because it's faster and the handle is better for how I use it.

There are spatulas and roller spatulas included in the STAINLESS STEEL TRAYS. The fruit leather sheet can be used for the fruit roll ups and the trays can be used for regular food. The Magic Mill dehydration machine can do a lot in a single batches. All trays and liners are dishwasher safe, and the housing makes it easy to clean. If the dehydrators overheated, the safety feature will be activated. It was built with food-grade material.

Brand: Magic Mill

👤I bought this product on March 1st. I was using it for a while. The front cover started to crack in the first week after 3-4 days a week. I tried to call customer support, but couldn't. I was looking for a replacement cover. I tried to call the manufacture, but they didn't help me. The machine does a good job of dehydrating food, but the cover is falling apart and I can't replace it without replacing the entire appliance.

👤I have to write a negative review. This is the worst dehydrator on the planet. You can't change your temp settings. If you bought a dehydrator because you want to eat raw, there are only 3 preset temp settings you can choose from, none of which is the ideal temp to dehydrate for raw food. The timer only works for 30 minutes and it can only run for 20 hours at a time, so it's not really helpful. It's great if you're into food poisoning but for myself, I try to avoid things that could cause me to go to the hospital. I would like to give this zero stars.

👤This is a high end product with a low price. The temperature range is perfect. The racks are easy to clean. Every time my dog hears it, she gets excited. She likes dehydrated sweet potatoes, bananas, apples, and green beans. The product is easy to use on the kitchen counter. The glass and steel door looks very nice. I researched products from low cost to high cost and found this one. Save yourself some time and trust me on this one.

👤The unit has the wire trays I wanted, but without plastic. Prepare by soaking wire trays in hot soapy water for 15 minutes and rinsing them with hot water. The dryer's interior was sponged with warm water. At the maximum temperature, it should be run for 1hr. There was no smell of plastic during the run. The unit was used in a single run to dehydrate 8.0 lbs of soupy meat in order to make just under 4 lbs of soupy jerky. The total drying surface area is about 6.5 square feet. 1.33 lbs of rolled soupy meat is 888-282-0465 The meat can be positioned close to the edge of the tray, but not close to the walls or tray runners, as each tray was slid into the drying unit. I set up the dehydrator in my basement shop in order to avoid annoying family members that don't like the smell of drying soupy. I am very satisfied with my shop and the smell is great once the dryer is turned off. The Magic Mill Pro dehydrator has nice wire trays.

👤I was really excited to get this dehydrator, but it's sitting on my kitchen counter and I'm not really excited. I was going to dehydrate produce and semi-liquids. The unit is not suited for either. I was willing to purchase more trays. It has been almost impossible. We paid extra to get the unit with shelves that were made of steel. There is a design flaw. Although the shelves are made of steel, they do not allow large items to be dehydrated without being in direct contact with plastic, and the square holes in the trays are large and smaller items would fall through as they shrink in the dehydrating process. The plastic mesh sheets you could use for smaller items are not the best way to choose a dehydrator. Why didn't they make the mesh small enough to dehydrate food? There is a design flaw. The shelves do not have enough edge to keep round items from rolling off. If you put the plastic mesh over the shelf, it will be even more true. I was willing to buy more fruit roll up trays, but they are almost impossible to buy. Poor customer service. It is difficult to get in touch with the seller or manufacturer to purchase additional trays. I've tried by email and phone but haven't been able to reach a person. Each time I selected "sales", the phone system hung up on me. If it was after hours in their time zone, the least they could have done was to allow me to leave a message. If it is difficult to buy something, how much harder will it be if a repair is needed? I'm going to return it because I didn't like it as much as I wanted. If the holes are too big and the plastic is needed, what is the point of having a shelf made of steel? If you can't get the seller or manufacturer to sell the trays, what is the point of buying them? If you only want to dry meat or produce, this might be a good dehydrator. If you were expecting to be able to use the shelves for smaller items, this is probably not the dehydrator for you. Good luck trying to buy more trays from the seller or manufacturer.

8. Dehydrator Machine Digital Temperature Vegetable

Brand: Homdox

👤I've made venison jerky with this machine four times. I set the timer for 5 hours and it was 158 degrees. I set another timer and did a rotation of the trays. I flip each individual piece of jerky. The jerky has been great. It automatically turns off when complete. I think it is a great dehydrator.

👤After drying for a long time, I made a banana that my daughter likes, but the taste is not good, but it is a good thing.

👤The machine I purchased was the easiest to use and the most efficient. The fan evenly distributes the air throughout the process, so the user doesn't have to worry about rotating the trays top to bottom. It has temperature settings that allow it to do things like dehydrating jerky, and not have to worry about it not being done completely.

👤I'm very happy with this. I used it daily for 3 weeks. I moved the trays around every few hours to help with heat distribution and I also moved the pineapple pieces themselves after 8 hours. It's a set and forget it kind of appliance. I made a bunch of trail mixes and just-add-water meals and they turned out exactly as I wanted. It's easy to use and does its job well. I haven't had anything stick to the trays in a way that didn't come off with a sponge and dish soap. Absolutely recommend.

👤It was a good product to make snacks for my dog.

👤We got this a few months ago. It worked great when I used it a few times. I made beef, venison, and chicken jerky. It started smoking and smelling like something was burning after being out for a day. The white top that covers the fan looks warped and melted. The motor and fan are no longer working. I tried to contact the company, but they said the email doesn't exist. We are past the'return by' date, so Amazon can't help me. They don't stand behind their product. Don't buy!

👤The Dehydrator worked well. It was slow to dry and even drying. I used it for fruits and ground beef. I used it 5 times. The ground beef was dry out in about 12 hours. Slow. It worked. My last time using it, I used it. I put the trays up with my gun and turned it on to set the time and temp and it was running as it should. I went to the living room and couldn't hear the fan. The machine was humming and the fan was not working, but I could smell burning plastic. I turned the machine off. I could still smell the plastic on the meat 20 minutes after it was exposed. The meat had to be thrown out. I did not want to risk it. The cost of preparing 5 pounds of meat and the cost of a dehydrator are gone. 5 uses in 6 1/2 months and it quits on you. I want my money back. I don't recommend this product.

Brand: Nesco

👤I decided to buy this Nesco Food Dehydrator because of the price point for what was advertised. My main reason for buying this was to dry my Ghost Peppers. I wanted to smoke and dry the chili's that WAY overproduced. This dehydrator is very good. I use it to dry out basil and other spices and dehydrating my smoked ghost chili's. I will have to wait until after deer season to try some venison Jerky. I'm pretty sure it will do its job. There is a pro's: 1. Any kind of food can be dehydrate with many trays and accessories. Even fruit rollups. 2. I used my wireless BBQ Thermometer to verify the temp's and it was only 1 degree off, due to it being an analog temp dial. It's not really necessary for a digital readout to break on me. 3. The instruction book says it will take at certain times, but it does it. 4. It has a pretty good price point compared to other dehydrators that I read reviews on, and they don't always dry jerky correctly. 5. There are dishwasher safe trays. There is a There is a Con's. I can't think of anything. If the company stops doing what it says it will do, I will review it again. If you're looking to dry spices, fruits, vegetables, or just want to make some jerky after a successful hunt, look no further. This one is durable and will do it all at a good price.

👤I've made 4 separate batches of hamburger jerky, dried it for 4 hours, used 2 lbs seasoning packets and cure, added 1/2 cup of water to the hamburger and let it cure for at least 12 hours. The nozzle on the gun was single wide. 2 lbs of hamburger will fill 5 of the 6 trays. Did follow the instructions on heating the jerky on a baking sheet after dehydrating. There is not much with 93 percent ground beef. It's a good snack that's high in calories and low in fat.

👤Eggs, thin sauces, and meals run off the trays if you want to dehydrate them liquidly. They do not stay flat. Even have liners with raised edges. No good. It's okay for thicker meals and other things, but you will be limited with thinner foods if you plan on doing a lot of dehydrating.

👤The first one I had was for more than 15 years. My grandsons family received one. I tried another type of dehydrator, but it didn't work out. I went back to this one, and am very happy about it.

👤The dehydrator has worked well. It's only been used 3 times so far. After 6 lbs of meat, the gun broke. I cut the meat with a pizza cutter after flattening it with a rolling pin. I'm looking for a better gun. Would not recommend a gun. It is quiet and like the temp. The lid doesn't fit flush with the trays but hasn't seemed to affect drying. I light a candle to make the smell go away.

Brand: Nesco

👤This is new to dehydrating. Reading reviews and trying to get into this, but not knowing if the kids would even eat it. The Snackmaster seemed to be the best choice. I bought 6 more trays and mesh liners. After doing several batches testing how long it took, how much yield, how many minutes it took the kids to devour the 11 trays of banana chips, one dehydrator was not going to cut it. Within a week, I ordered the Gardenmaster along with 6 more trays and screens. The larger trays make a difference, along with being able to stack 30 trays. Has anyone done that? I use both now. The Gardenmaster is a lot more noisier than the other ones, but with 8 trays it is a lot less drying time. It's loud so you don't want to be on the phone. It's more convenient to load it with no motor to pick it up. Counter space is a little more. The snackmaster is very quiet and takes longer. 600w vs 1000w. The Gardenmaster has just 7 of the trays on it, while the Snackmaster has 11. There is a I wish I'd started with the gardenmaster, I haven't gotten any fruit or jerky yet. I have been using 20 trays for fruits and jerky the past year. No problems, still going strong. There is still no progress on the stockpile. I will order another ten trays for fruits because I don't find the noise an issue. I don't think I'd like jerky with 30 trays. I love the unit. After 3 years, still using. One thing I do with my jerky is that it takes 30 minutes or so for each tray to reach the highest heat at the bottom, so I take the temperature at the top of 10 trays and it was only 140*. The new trays are a bit more concave than the originals, apparently they changed them. The new ones have a ring. The gardenmaster does not fit these trays. New trays need to be heated so that the plastic relaxes and the crowns point up, just like when you open a new dehydrator, we recommend heating the unit for an hour to relax the plastic. The new trays should heat up when Stack 4 is used. This usually fixes the problem. It must not be usual. Nesco lost a customer and I just wanted more useable trays.

👤I was expecting to use it in my kitchen, like I did my old dehydrator. I knew that would never be an option after a second of turning it on. It is so loud! I moved it into my laundry room in the basement, but it still makes noise upstairs. I used the Nesco website to contact their customer service, to find out if the noise is normal. They didn't reply. The noise was 2 stars. The customer service received 2 stars. It gets 1 star for drying well, but it sounds like it's on its last legs. When it dies, I'll update my review.

11. Magic Mill Dehydrator Trays Temperature

Magic Mill Dehydrator Trays Temperature

Brand: Magic Mill

👤I have had a food dryer for 30 years and it dried vegetables. My family gave me the Magic Mill for my birthday. Since taking it from the box, it has been in almost constant use. After drying meat or sticky fruits, the SS rack pops in the dishwasher. We love dried Fuji apples and make yam slices as dog treats. When the store has limp produce, I have jars of dried veggies for soups. We are able to make our own jerky with clean ingredients. Quality high energy foods are a must for my husband as he does wild land fire fighting in the summer. There are a few more recipe ideas in the owners manual. I plan on taking this tool with me in our RV when we travel for remote jobs, as it is easy to use in an RV. There is a The unit is light enough that an older female can easily move it.

👤The old cheap dehydrator was quieter than the Magic Mill. It is in the kitchen and looks nice. I chose this brand because I am trying to eliminate plastic from my life and this Magic Mill had steel shelves. Magic Mill does not identify the type of plastic used, so the plastic sheet assessors that come with it do not please me. I don't care if you say 'food safe'. I will probably buy some pure silicone trays in the future. The digital feature that allows me to set the tempurature is a welcome improvement over my old one and the fan in the back really creates great air flow. It is easy to wipe down when it is large. If you found this review helpful, please press the button to say thank you.

👤The price was not bad. The product works. The only problem I have is the plastic. The metal trays will fall if not positioned correctly. The sides bow out.

👤I have a nice container garden and this year, I even grew and Harvested Yukon Potatoes. I got 10 pounds of potatoes and I decided to freeze them and then cook them in casseroles for one person. My old dehydrator only does small batches and takes 20 hours to complete. I bought this one on Amazon after doing my research. I finished the potato harvest in 8 hours. It's fabulous! Some of the tomato harvest will be going in tomorrow. My bell peppers are arriving. My Sage is also bursting at the seams. I can't wait to run this baby a lot.

👤I have been using this model at my daughter's home and I now own one. I hope that Magic Mill will design a larger capacity that is all metal, except for the door, when I upgrade. I like that the unit has 9 wire shelves, 2 fruit roll up trays, a mesh tray for items like bananas and strawberries, and a hanger rack for items that should be hung to dry. The shelves are easy to clean with warm water and liquid soap. The control panel is easy to use. The panel is bright red. After washing the shelves and doing a test run to remove any manufacturing odor, we partially filled the unit with the first batches of apples, bananas and pineapples. The fruit was sliced thin, 3 centimeters/less than the thickness of a dime. The option of dehydrating the fruit from soft leathery to crisp is also available. The fruit was delicious. I lightly dusted the apples with cinnamon before dehydrating. After drying, the spice sticks well. I haven't had a dehydrator in a while. I dehydrated many items and the process and seasonings came back. I'm looking forward to using it a lot.
