It is easy to install, because the lid is opened by rotating and there are grooves on the surface to make it easy to open or close by hand. Don't be fooled by the amount of vegetables and rice. Their variety bucket has a wide range of meals from breakfast to dinner. The 2000 Calorie Diet was used.
👤It's a good value, I ordered it three times. The first two were in a bucket. The black bucket that was advertised as 25.2 lbs on the company's website is now 24 lbs. The company hasn't returned two emails for an explanation. If Amazon has reduced the bucket size, they need to change their product description and image. The advertising needs to be corrected.
👤With ongoing inflation, ports in California are grinding to a halt and rail cars are being raided. Let's face facts. The shelves are empty. It's time to think long term. I mean years, not weeks or months. There is a If you have a family, you owe them food on the table. This does it. This is emergency food. I didn't go to the store to buy dinner. If you have the means to carefully control cholesterol, diabetes and other health risks, you shouldn't eat emergency food. This stuff has a lot of salt. The more you eat, the more thirsty you are. There is a You have to control your water reserves. You're going to be in a bad place quickly. If you are forced to eat this stuff for more than a month, you should have an exercise plan in place. You will gain weight, have elevated levels and other inherent risks, which is against the survival scenario.
👤The bucket is bigger than I expected and the product came fast. I have tried several of the meals and have liked them all. The pasta Alfredo is my favorite so far. I like that it is made in the USA. I have to add water. I plan to use this for emergency preparation, camping and just a quick meal when I need it. The pack date was on the bottom so it was freshly made.
👤Here's what's in the bucket. It's impossible to read the description. The 5 star rating is random and the review is only to help you make a decision. Thanks. What is in the bucket? 1-Multi-Grain cereals 1-Oatmeal with Brown Sugar 1-Old Fashioned Pancake Mix

👤I thought these would be useful now that I'm not a prepper. The shelf life on them is great. We've gone through some bad times and dollar stores helped us through them, but I wanted to keep these in storage. It was better then expected. It comes in a sealed pouch. I think it's worth the money because I have never bought these before. I was expecting them to come before the delivery date, but they came before me. I'm happy about that. Thanks so much for helping to have peace of mind now. I would order it.

👤I didn't like the fact that I had to wait a long time for it to come in and it broke inside.
The shelf life is up to 30 years. The 'Just in Case' Food Supply, The Survival Tabs, and the Bugout Food are backup for situations such as natural disasters. This is the best food in the smallest amount. When facing uncertainty, the body needs all the daily essential vitamins and minerals. The design is small and easy to store. The Bugout food contains all of the essential vitamins and minerals. It is made with the highest quality meat. GLUTEN free and non-GMO. This calculation is based on one average person. Consumption requirements can be different from person to person. The flavor is mixed. There are 4 x 180 tablets. 20 calories per tab for 12 chewable tablets. The bottle weight is approximately 1.8 pound. The dimensions are 7.5 x W 5 x D. The bottle weight is approximately 1.8 pound. The dimensions are 7.5 x W 5 x D.
👤How many tabs do you have? More like 180 and won't answer my messages.
👤I received one of the containers. For one container, it's $150. Hope you correct the mistake.
👤The description says there are 4 bottles. I received 3 bottles and 540 tabs. I was going to buy more if I liked these, because it's a simple way to prepare for emergencies and it has a long shelf life, but I was shorted an entire bottle.
👤This will be a great back up for any emergency. Natural disasters, stranded somewhere, or anything else can happen in this day and age. I laughed at a reviewer who was complaining about the daily calories. Something is better than nothing in an emergency. It's not a gourmet meal, but it's a great back-up for either nothing or filling in on limited food choices you may have in your pantry, as well as being a great way to meet your daily calories intake. In an emergency, you will have to use what you have on hand, and this is just another reassurance you can have somewhere in your home, or even take while camping for weeks on end in the middle of no where! This is a great addition to anyone who cares about preparing for an emergency, or just doesn't want to be taken by surprise in the event of an emergency. The Red Cross believes in a few days of preparation. Does it matter how it tastes if you are desperate?
👤Not bad. I tried a few. I can't say the flavor is exactly as described, but I can see how they'll help you feel like you've eaten something, even if you don't have vitamins or minerals.
👤I bought these for a worst case scenario to have the key minerals and ingredients. For 15 days, each container has 100 percent of your key nutrients. It's definitely expensive but it's cheaper than freeze dried food as I have quite a few of these and ramen for pure empty calories. I think they taste really good. It's a key component to any survivalist.
👤If this keeps 25 years, I think you'd need more than that to survive, but it works for me. They tasted really good when I tried them. You would need about 3 times the ration per day. They don't take a lot of space. I'll buy a few.
👤I only received a 30 day supply of survival tabs after ordering a 60 day supply. I paid 158 dollars for a 60 day supply.
👤Good product. It took a long time to get here. Canada customs is to blame for that.
This handy backpack is lightweight and easy to carry, and it is packed with supplies to be ready for emergencies. Wherever it can be easily accessed, store this day pack. A great gift for everyone. Emergency meals have 11,880 calories and 9 lbs of food. Legacy has the lowest cost per day of 2000 calories and the lowest cost per pound of food. The largest serving size in the industry is 1.5 to 2 times larger than competing packages. The meals come in a Mylar pouch with an oxygen absorber and a nitrogen flush. Simple to prepare meals: just add water, perfect for hiking, backpacking, camping, or long term emergency preparation.
👤We tried some of the flavors in the bucket. Both were good. At any point, we could exist on these. I didn't like the fact that these packets have 4 serving each. We don't want to waste any of the calories when camping so we don't eat all of them. The product must be maintained for 15 minutes. It's enough to start a fire in the first place to boil the water for a meal. I don't want to have a large pot to boil in. The Mountain House brand comes in 2-serving pouches and you only have to bring 2 cups of water to a boil, then pour it into the pouch and seal for 10 minutes. It's much easier to use those.
👤I tasted only the Pasta Primavera packet to see if it was worth storing as emergency food. I must say that it was delicious and filling, as far as an emergency ration goes, it's really tasty and filling. The packs require more preparation and resources than Mountain House offers. The portion size per packet is too large and should be cut in half and made to be 2 packets. You have to have a pot to boil the water and keep it boiling as it cooks. It will take about 3x as long to reconstitute the food as with boiling water, compared to Mountain House, which you can just boil water and dump in the package, or even just add cold water to and forget about. The product falls flat in comparison, but it makes up for it in price per portion ratio. This is a decent product, but due to the fact that you need to dump it into a pot and continuously stir, instead of pouring water and forgetting about it, it's not as good as it could be. I would rate it as close to competitors as possible. The pasta was good enough for me to eat the rest of the sauce on my plate, so that does count for something. I think I will stick to Mountain House for my emergency food supply even though the price is a bargain, because it is so easy to make. I think this product could be improved by having portion sizes cut in half so the packets can stand up on their own, as well as changing the cooking directions on the packet to use half as much water.
👤I compared the appearance and taste of four popular brands in a single meal and purchased four of them. The Legacy Premium product was the clear winner. It took less time to prepare than other people. It stood out because of its taste. I think these are close to a normal meal. The others had a strong chemical taste and were so full of sodium that you would only want to eat them if there was nothing else. This is a great choice because of the costs and quality.
👤I have a fixed income. I wanted to try this as an alternative to traditional meal preparation. This review is based on cost, taste and ease of use. It was easy to use. You just add boiling water. It's good to have a taste. It isn't terrible. And cost. There is a definite savings. You can add meat, mushrooms, and vegetables, but they don't taste good. Dinner entree was what I ordered. You can get deserts and snacks. There are dairy and peanut warnings on the individual packages, but they are not mentioned on the bucket that they come in or in the descriptiion. I don't have any food allergies, but I would be very upset if I did. A good value.
SHELF STABLE is the longest proven shelf life in the industry. 25,600 total calories per day. It's easy to prepare. Just add some water. A 25 year shelf life is possible.
👤Quite disappointed. Fettuccine and milk sub were good. I could not stomach anything else. It was bad tasting food for most of the time. Everything is compromised of pasta and soup. Extreme rip-off! The company is taking advantage of people. Go clear. Don't buy! You can get a bunch of pasta and soup at Walmart. You can get the same thing at Walmart for a fraction of the cost. There is a I would slap the taste out of their mouths if they were in front of me. Thank you.
👤I feel like what you get is over priced. I have vacuumed more than this contains for a quarter of the price. Don't be lazy. There is not a lot of food in this box.
👤The survival kit has a good value. I can't review the food because I never plan on eating anything unless I have to. The mile, bananas, and everything else will all be gone in 25 years. I don't need milk or bananas to survive, so why not replace them with something that will last 25 years? One of my pouches had a small gash. I shook the bag and found a small amount of powder. Most of this stuff requires water to be boiled. In a survival situation, you can just add water and shovel it down. All the food and the pouches would need at least 6.5 gallons of water. That's a lot of water. I live in Minnesota, so if a tornado or snow hit, I'd have to eat emergency food. I keep the food in my storage room in the basement with no windows, in either case. I can mix the food with the water from my water heating system in case of an emergency.
👤If you were thinking that this bucket contains ready-to- eat food for two weeks, it doesn't. It requires a large cooking vessel, a heat source for cooking, and a good amount of water. You will need the following to use this kit as directed. A heat source that can cook the good for hours. A large cooking pot with six gallons of water for cooking the food in this kit. It's on me for not reading through the description and product photos more before ordering, but I'd like to point something out in case you also didn't. It's not obvious in the description that it's not easy to split packets into smaller, individual portions because some of the ingredients are clumped together until you cook them. Even though it's marketed for a single person, you'd end up making meals that include eight serving of soup or rice. My biggest issue with the family-sized packets is that they don't need to be refrigerated, but there will be a lot of leftover food, so you'd want to keep it cold. I live in southern Arizona where it's not cold enough to keep food out of the environment, so I'd either need a working refrigerator or just eat a packet of food a day. Milk and banana chips can be split into individual portions, and they don't require cooking. I've made a soup and eaten some chips. The soup will fill you up and keep you alive, but it isn't very good and doesn't have any chicken flavor. It tastes so bland because it already has a bit of salt in it. The smell was great, but the taste wasn't right. I would be happy to have it in an emergency. Assuming that I had enough fuel to boil nearly three quarts of water and then cook it for 25 minutes, and that I could safely store all of the leftovers. The banana chips are pretty good. I will never be able to verify the claim of a 25-year storage life for this bucket of food. I'm not going to be digging this out of the pantry for another round of chicken soup if I'm still alive at that point. I probably won't be updating my review if I need it sooner. The vegetable soup was a good indicator and I would say that the food is filling if not particularly good. I was hoping this would be tailored for me with smaller serving sizes given the product name, because I don't like the large packet sizes. I'm glad that I could try it, but I won't be stocking up on it.
The no-mess, no-melt snack or dessert can be stored for up to 3 years. There is no need for refrigeration. There are 15 delicious large servings of food that have a total of 22,240 calories and 17 lbs of fat. Legacy has the lowest cost per day of 2000 calories and the lowest cost per pound of food. The largest serving size in the industry is 1.5 to 2 times larger than competing packages. The meals come in a Mylar pouch with an oxygen absorber and nitrogen flush, and are packed in a large bucket. Simple to prepare meals: just add water, perfect for hiking, backpacking, camping, or long term emergency preparation.
👤We are going to review emergency foods. I have a bunch of supplies at the foot of my bed from Legacy, Wise, and US Gov't MREs. The report shows the actual cost. The companies use the term serving. The word "serving" is meaningless with regard to these food packets. I think they want you to think it means a meal, but for that to be true, you have to define what a meal is and I will define it right now. The average person needs 2000 calories a day to survive in a more or less tranquil lifestyle. If you eat three meals a day, you need 667 calories to meet the 2000 daily minimum. An active soldier needs more, as well as children and old people. During the battle of Stalingrad, the food was limited to a frozen block of flour and sawdust. The children and old people were the first to die. All of the food supplied below has a nutrition information on the packed that can be used to determine the total calories in the box. You can get the total meals that can be obtained from the box if you eat some, which equates to 667 calories three times a day. There is a premium of 60 serving ENTRE PAIL, which costs about 666 per day. I don't have the individual packet costs, so I can't deduct the calories from Mountain Man and Apple orchard Oatmeal that I believe helped their numbers. The old Government MREs are last. Twelve MREs are packaged together. You can buy either one of the menus if you want to. Case A sells for $85 and Case B sells for $65. You can buy vegetarian MREs. Most of these are for countries with restrictions on the amount of food they can eat. There are a variety of items in the MRE package. The MRE package contains about 1200 calories. Gi's when things are going well. Get three a day. They get two when things aren't going well. They yell on the radio when things are bad. I only tried a few of the packets in this. None of them can be eaten. It is not dinner at the Waldorf, it is survival/ emergency food. If you are feeding a family of four, the top three are the way to go. The MREs are the way to go if you are alone and a widower. The total calories in their food is probably the best buy, even though their advertising may appear to be costly. There are other brands of emergency/survival food. I will buy some and add it to the list after I reply to this post. Since I have all three brands in my possession, I will try and post it under each one. The Premium 60 SERVING ENTRE PAIL costs $60 and comes with 15 pack of four "SERVINGS" A LA KING is 1520, a CHICKEN A LA KING is 1350, a CLASSIC CHILI is 330, and a POTATO is 440. PAIL $135.00 BAKED POTA TORTILLA SOUP 150 600 SOUTHWEST RICE & BEANS 180 720. There is a PIE 190 760 TOMATO BASIL SOUP PASTA. 128 POWDERED MILK 112X16 1792 CREAMY BEEF STROGANOFF 270X8 2160 CREAMY CHICKEN ALFREDO 341X8 The Apple Orchard is 169X16 and 2704 GRANNYS POTA TO SOUP 130X8 The Chinon NooDLE SOUP is 120X8. White cedar pastries 302X4 1208 CORN CHOWDER 190X4 760 MASHED POTATOS 177X8 1416 23488 35.26326727 MEALS There is no UNHEARD of three days in the military at a cost of $125 per day. The cost for one $625 calories per service is less than the cost for a movie theater. These things are great and work over half of a 2000 cal/m. The way it is for soldiers to eat is two a day. The cost per mile is 666 cal per mile.

👤I don't know if it was the company or Amazon that did this, but we ordered this bag so we could have it in time for the storm. The order was placed on Sept 5. Standard shipping was free with Prime. There were no fast shipping options. After the storm, Amazon said it would arrive here Sept 11-13. It arrived Sept 7, 2017! We were very happy. The quality of the bag is very good and my boyfriend and I are very happy with it. The bag has plenty of room for more stuff. We're going to put some cans in it to use with the stove, but it has everything else you could possibly need. If we have to use GTFO, it's our grab'n'go bag. I wish the camp stove had instructions.
👤It's odd that Sustain Supply Co doesn't have an online presence. There is no website. There was no Facebook. No social media. In an emergency, that doesn't matter. I'm not a "doomsday prepper". In the wake of all the natural disasters, we thought it would be a good idea to have an emergency bag. I'm sure you can find packs such as "Ready America" on Amazon. The Sustain Supply Co kit appears to be a superior product. Mountain House is a well-known brand of freeze dried food and Datrex Emergency Water is a standard for emergency water. Light sticks are rated top rated. The kit was assembled by people who wanted the best things in it. The backpack has plenty of room for additional items and is very comfortable to carry. The backpack is fully loaded and weighs 17 pounds. I'm really happy with this purchase, hope we never have to use it!
👤The pack was pretty cool. I like the backpack. The knife it comes with was a razor and it only took a few nibbles on my leather strap. It only came with 4 of the advertised 12 food ration, and it was rated for 72 hours for two people. No big deal right? I send it back and they also send another missing 8 of 12 food ration and one of the water filters. It has 2 liters of dead weight in the form of 5 year stable water cartons. I am sending the original pack back with both foods and a filter. They might consider the fact that I am still short 4 ration if they charge me. Weak people... Since they don't have feedback anywhere else, here it is. Hey guys? People buy these so be careful when packing them.
👤Kit just arrived. The items are not advertised as high quality. The flashlight is useless. The lantern is made of cheap plastic. It is a goner if you drop it. It is good to have a backup. The water and food ration is the most important. The 2 pots and the fire kindler are good, but not great. The water filter is a bonus. I don't understand why people say they can buy things separately for cheaper. Even if you did, those items will be cheaper than this kit and fail you. I created a list of buying better quality stuff in the same or slightly greater quantity, and it is almost double the price. $385.00 Don't listen to the other reviewers. I will buy two day packs for the wife and I to distribute the heavy load after I supplement this kit with better quality items. They don't say, "Hey, steel me from my owner!" How about you make a bag without the obvious labels? idiots...
The stock up kit has a variety of ready-to- eat meals and breakfast dishes that are individually wrapped for convenience and freshness when you need them most. 25 year shelter life Their emergency foods are designed to last for 25 years, which means they can be used in disaster kits. Large-quantity survival food kits can be stored at home, in your vehicle or your emergency shelter for long term emergency preparedness when you need it most. It's easy to prepare in any situation, just add water, wait a few minutes and enjoy your food. The containers are easy to store and lock together so food stays safe and secure.
👤We researched before buying food storage from Wise Company. The price for the quality and amount of food is unbeatable. Adding these to my family's emergency kit gives me great peace of mind and I hope I never have to use them. I have tasted pastas and potatoes before at a store that is more like a hunting store. They were something I could live with if I had the same. I suppose that during an end of world event, I would be able to eat any food I wanted. An after taste that wouldn't go away was the brand I tried. Wiseman products are packed in foil packets and then sealed in buckets. The packets should be okay even if something happens to the buckets. When I moved off the islands, I put off getting serious about having an emergency stash because I lived along a fault line. I got lazy because I didn't have ready access to Walmart and Costco on an Alaskan island. I finally bought these buckets because they are a serious investment. I ordered them on a Saturday. We had a 7.1 magnitude earthquake early Sunday morning. Milk stock and glass jars were lost by most stores. We couldn't drink the water for a week. It was a wake up call that we were poor and desperate. We could be on our own for up to 2 weeks because of our location to the rest of the country, and non-perishable food is essential, according to the emergency preparedness teams up here. I also bought buckets of dried fruit from Wise Company. Having these food buckets in our emergency fund gives me peace of mind that if we have to use them, we will have food to eat. You will be glad you spent the money on these when it comes to that point.
👤There was a package that wasn't sealed and there was fine powder in the bucket. We tried that meal last night and it tasted great. The rest is tucked away for a rainy day.
👤I haven't tried anything yet. I ordered it for variety in my food storage. I got three of the same bucket when the order was supposed to have two lunch buckets and one breakfast bucket. I don't want a breakfast bucket all the time, so I am okay with this. It could have been better. There are other thoights. The shipping was supposed to take 5 days, but it took almost 5 weeks. When I ordered it, I read the shipping time.
👤They sent 2 buckets and a first aid kit after I ordered 3 buckets. This is not an MRE type product. The majority of the meals are dried pasta with a powdered flavor packet. The title of the product says "emergency food", which is 124 serving per bucket. It is not clear if only 64 of those are actual meals. The orange drink mix and desserts are the rest of the 124. They don't make it clear in the fine print. The description leads you to believe that 1 serving is 1 meal. Each serving has about 200 to 250 calories. Each bucket is only enough calories for one person for a few days. Less than advertised. It is a huge ripoff. The equivalent of ramen noodles or a Knorr pasta packet is $40 a day. It makes me wonder if the 25 year shelf life is real.
These batteries are only used for single use. The microfiltration is able to remove 99% of waterbornebacteria and 99% of waterborne parasites. Removes microplastics and reduces the amount of water in the environment. All claims are verified with laboratories using standard testing protocols. 4,000 liters (1,000 gallons) of clean and safe drinking water will be provided by the microbiological filter. Every LifeStraw product purchased, a school child in need will receive safe drinking water for the entire school year. There are materials that are free of BPA.
👤You should get a Sawyer-Mini. I have used both on camping trips. You need steel jaws to suck water. If you use a Sawyer or other filters with pump/squeeze action, you won't have to rip out your filling. You have to lie on the ground, and other filters have a straw if the pouch breaks. You need to watch actual videos of people who use these frequently before voting down this post. Everyone uses a pump or squeeze method of filtration. Lifestraws are a great idea, but it is hard to use.
👤I am sorry to have the first one be so negative but the life straw was a total and utter disappointment. I bought it for my daughter to go to Mexico with strict instructions to not drink anything without the life straw. Had she followed my instructions she would have died of dehydration. We followed the instructions from the video to soak it, but we couldn't get any water to come through it. It was too late to return to Amazon and I did not receive a reply when I contacted Life Straw. Too bad. I was going to have one for each family member to have in an emergency pack. I will not do that after this experience.
👤This thing is serious. I went backpacking on Maine's Bigelow range. I ran out of water when I brought it. Bring a wide mouth bottle and fill it with water. I drank from the most disgusting looking hole on top of a lower peak. I thought it would be safe, but it wasn't. Wrong. It tasted like fresh spring water. Better than a tap. I'm from Maine, and I've tasted plenty of water from the mountain springs. It can be difficult to start. You have to prove it by soaking. Blow into it if it still doesn't work. Everyone should have a bug-out bag in case of a civil war, because the world seems to have gone mad.
👤If you don't clear the water after each use, the water will seize up. I didn't run a gallon through either of the break I had.
👤I dropped it from my mouth to the countertop and it stopped working, which is ridiculous. There was no impact at all. It is dangerous to have a water source out in the woods if it can't take an impact. This bad review is solely about that fact.
👤I've used these in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Works as advertised. The system is safe to use. When we deploy, we use it as a standard procedure to have one in everyone's room. It's called Semper Fi.
👤I drank from a steam. I have become a hippie. I'm in a transformation.
👤We got what we ordered. I've used this product before in Afghanistan, and I'm happy with it.
👤The price was right, so I wanted to get one for a while. The water out of the Lake of Two Mountains tasted good and did not have any ill effects.
